Where to Find Me

Hey

I've seen a couple of these post around and thought it would be a good idea to do one.  Through these posts I've found it very interesting what other types of social media bloggers use and also to find where else to follow them.

// Twitter

 // Pinterest

// Instagram

// Polyvore

// Bloglovin'

Hope you all found this post somewhat useful and follow if you want.  There will be no Favourites post this week, my last essay for the semester is due Friday *insert cheering* so there will be no more of me sharing my stressing ... until exams. In other news I've reached 100 followers on Twitter! It's pretty exciting, especially since I don't think I'm that interesting to follow.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

A New Old Discovery

Hey

A week or so ago when I was deciding what to wear for the day I headed over to my wardrobe which is not my default place where I pick out my clothes, I usually just rummage through my drawers in my dressing table and pick out something.  I felt like something different so headed over.  In my wardrobe are all my dresses, jackets and a few odd shirts that I didn't want stuffed in the drawers. As the title suggests I found a piece that is really cool and classic and something I would want to buy.

I've had this for a couple of years and I think when I first got it I didn't really like it that much and it was a bit small for me.  Fast forward to now and I really love it and is somehow not as small as I remember it.  I really love blazer type jackets and I really wanted to get a black one so it was a win when I rediscovered it.

As you can see the jacket doesn't have buttons but folds of fabric which you can cross over if your feeling a bit cold.  I really like the style of it, the length of the jacket is longer at the front and it can go with any outfit.

Hope you all enjoyed this post

My Favourtie Things #5

Hey

I'm a bit undecided on whether I'm excited for the weekend. On one hand I get to sleep in and stay warm but on the other hand I've got two essays to do for next week, and being the weekend means the due dates closer and the pressure is on :( Anyway enough with that here's another little post on my favourite things.

Heaters in the Library
Once again kind of random which kind of then makes me random but oh well.  On Wednesday I basically spent the whole day in the library trawling through books trying to find something relevant for my essays.  Literally the first thing I do is snag one of the little study areas in the library where I can just shut the door and relax in the peace and quiet.  The great thing about these little rooms is that there's a heater which has already been turned on so it's toasty warm when I get there. It did rain a bit that day and I don't know about you but there's nothing better than being somewhere warm while it's raining.  All day I was unwilling to leave the room to put books away but eventually I had to leave which kind of broke my heart especially as I was leaving it started to rain again :/

New Bag
This bag became mine only last night so its very new in terms of newness if that's a word.  I got this from Farmers as they were having a big sale on literally everything and because my Mum wanted to go so I really had no choice (though I wasn't complaining).  I been really wanting a new bag for a while now, one that's big enough to fit some books and other stuff but is smaller that my current backpack I use for uni; I find it annoying having to wear it when there's nothing much in it.  Anyway it's black as you can see, it's got a couple of pockets in the front and has a lot of space inside, I'm very excited to start using it.

New Jumper
This was also bought at the same time so it's on the same level of newness as the bag.  In the store I was tossing up between the pink one or the blue one.  Normally I would go for blue as it's a bit safe for me but I loved the pink one more so yeah.  It's very stretchy and very comfortable to wear and since pinks a happy colour (at least for me) hopefully I'll be more happier when I wear it.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and have a great weekend :D

Collection Cosmetics Nail Polish

Hey

I mention that I had won this nail polish on Friday's post which I completely forgot about entering so it was a very nice surprise.  So far I've only painted one hand (I'm a bit slow) but here's a little review of it.

The bottle is very similar to the Maybelline Colour Show nail polish which is another thing that I'd won and forgot about entering...

First off the formula is very runny and pays to have as little as possible on the brush; it also helps to have a steady hand which is something I do not have so I mostly end up making a mess *sigh*.  The colour is amazing, I got Lady in Red , it's very pigmented so if you wanted to do one coat the colour will still be amazing. I did two coats to make the colour more solid and also because I like even numbers and it kind of felt weird just doing one.  Remember when I said that the colour kind of pinkish, well I was wrong it's a bright red and under a certain light it looks kind of orange-ish.  It also dries pretty quickly which is pretty awesome for especially for people like me who sometimes forgets they have wet nail polish on, do something and then ruin it :(

As I said before I've heard great things about this brand especially about their mascara and concealer which a two things I really want to try out.

Hope you all enjoyed this post.

Style Inspiration - Blake Lively

Hey

This post is another little spotlight on style that I absolutely obsessed with.  I've been a fan of Blake Lively's style for a while and it wasn't until I saw a photo of her at the Cannes Film Festival wearing an unbelievable dress that I adore that I got inspired for todays post.

These are just a few of the amazing examples of her style which range from glamorous to chic casual.

Top Right - Gucci Première
It was this dress that inspired the post and made me fall in love with her style all over again.  This dress is amazing! I love the deep plum colour of the dress, the way it's structured; corseted at the top and flowy at the bottom. It's basically my dream dress which I would be able to pull off if I had Blake's body *sigh*

Bottom Right - Giambattista Valli Couture
I love how fun this dress is. It's white, has purple/pink flowers on it and has a slit in the front which makes it look like there is another skirt over it.  It looks great paired with some nude heals and Blake of course pulls it off flawlessly thanks to her amazing legs.

Bottom Left - Dior Red Dress
Out of all of the looks I've chosen this look is more of what I would like to wear.  I love the red dress, it's ruffled which softens the look. It looks amazing paired with black leggings and leather jacket. A leather jacket is on the top of my clothing wish list, it goes with anything and can work with both a day or night look.

Top Left - Zuhair Murad
I love the whole 1920s look and Blake pulls it off really well. I love how fitted the dress it, it shows off her curves, and how it the bottom is soft and drapes towards the ground.  The changing design of the lines is very different but works very well and is very illusionistic and focuses on the best parts of her body.  Her hair is amazing, as well with the other outfits, but I just love this hair style, period, very 1920s.

Centre - Versace
This gown is very daring but of course Blake pulls it off flawlessly.  I love how asymmetrical it is with one covered arm and the slit and I am in love with the electric blue colour.  I adore the detailing of the strap things that go across under her bust, it adds some nice detail and kind of stops it from being too plain.

Hope you all enjoyed this post :)

My Favourite Things #4

Hi there, remember me? Sorry for being quiet on the blogging front but I've had two essays due this week and as much as I try to be prepared and start early I always seem to be stressed and finishing it at the last minute. I never seem to learn. Anyway here's another weekly addition of my favourite things.

Fame Perfume
Remember when I did that post on my small collection of perfumes, which you can see here, and I mentioned that I was running out of my favourite one. Well I did but one day after my family went out shopping without me they picked up a set of two perfumes and some fake nails that came in bag.  I was sooooo happy as I could never find anywhere that sold it and now I'm pretty much set for a while :D

Collection Cosmetics Nail Polish
I apparently won this from Collection but I have no recollection of actually entering.  This thing happens to me often, I have a horrible memory usually with little stuff such as what competitions I've entered apparently.  But not remembering made the surprise of finding it in the mail even better.  The colour I got sent is called 'Lady in Red' and is more of a pinkish red rather than a red red, if you get what I mean.  I'm going to try it on this weekend and post a review next week so look out for it. I've heard great things about this brand especially their concealer and mascara which are two things I really want to try.

Electric Blankets
This one might seem quite random but with it getting colder lately its a necessity.  To be honest there's nothing better than getting into a warm bed and being snug rather than shivering in a cold one.  The only problem of course is getting out of bed especially early in the morning when it's still freezing.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and have a great weekend. Today I hand in my essay which is a relief and then turn my attention to two others :( Next week there should be the usual three posts, if I'm organised ;)

Favourite Book Series - Bloodlines

Hey

This post is a follow up to my favourite book series (Vampire Academy) and I have to say that this books series might just be better than Vampire Academy; but then again it's might be (yes it is) because a certain character is more central in this series. But more to that later ;)

The series is a spin off and kind of sequel to Vampire Academy (see my post on this series here) and is quite hard to explain without giving too much away of what happens at the end of the first series, but I'll try my best.

This series follows Sydney, who you would have met before, and her complicated life being and Alchemist.  She and along with a couple of other characters readers have already met are in Palm Springs to protect and hide Jill for a reason you'd know if you have read the last VA book (see how hard it is!)  Throughout the series we see Sydney lax in her prejudice against vampires (and discover a new skill) which leads her to fall in love with (my favourite character) Adrian.  I don't know why I love Adrian, I just do, he has great one-liners, a snarky attitude but at the same time is sweet; you just can't help loving him.  He is 'one' of the reasons why I love this series more as he *spoiler* gets the girl and there's just more of him.

Along with the whole vampire element it also is just kind of like a teen drama with each character having their own problems with relationships, high school etc.

So far there is only four books published and the next one Silver Shadows comes out soon.  The author posted the first chapter online and it was AMAZING can't wait for it :D

Hope you all enjoyed this post. I've pretty much read every book I have and need something new to read so I would love to hear any recommendations of any series I can get obsessed about.

My Favourie Things #3

Hey

It's the end of another week and once again it's time for the latest post of my favourite things.

Popbasic
I first learnt of Popbasic through one of Shaaanxo's videos and I really loved the concept of the website.  Each month there's a different collection to buy that consists of simple classics pieces of clothing and jewellery.

Popbasic has given me the opportunity to join their ambassador program which is something I am very excited about.  You'll notice there is a Popbasic badge along the side bar and if you click on the link and sign up you'll get $15 credit which is awesome.

Popbasic is launching the Le Breton shirt pretty soon but you can pre order it here.  The shirt is $48 and the website has free shipping which is the best thing ever! This will probably be my first purchase from Popbasic and I am so excited as you can wear the Le Breton any way you want.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love that Pink
I've already done a post on this lipstick which you can see here and I'm mentioning again because it's amazing.  I don't really wear lipstick to uni and on Monday I decided to be brave and wore this colour.  The colour lasted pretty much all day and only need to reapply a little.  When I put it on in the morning my lips were quite dry, I thought it might hinder the wear but it didn't which was great.

Lily Pebbles and Vivianna Does Makeup ITAtube Vlogs
If you read both Lily and Anna's blogs, watch their videos and follow them on twitter you'll know that they went to ITAtube in Milan.  Italy is one of my dream destinations to both visit and maybe (if I'm lucky) work in as the Italian Renaissance is my favourite period of art history.  Watching both these videos only reaffirmed my love for the country and made me crave pizza and pasta (yum!).

You can watch Lily's vlog here and see Anna's vlog right here.

Hope you all enjoyed this post. Hope you all have a great weekend and Mothers Day :D

Beauty Lucky Dip

Hey

You might remember me mention the website Once'it before when I blogged about a jewellery lucky dip.  They were running these lucky dips again and I wasn't going to get one until I saw a beauty one and I just couldn't help myself and bought one, *sigh*.

When the parcel came it was like Christmas or my birthday and I literally ripped it open and also had some fun with the bubble wrap ;).

In the parcel was two makeup brushes from 'UBU'; the orange one is a concealer brush while the purple one is for smudging out eye makeup.  I haven't got any brushes like these before, I've seen them on the website before, they're quite cheap and the orange brush head is quite stiff'; be interesting to see how well they work.

The parcel also included a 'intense hydrating mask' by art a face which I have never heard of but was excited to try.  So far I've only tried it once so not enough time to see a difference; the mask felt very silicone like and I could definitely feel it on my face and did not come off easily. My face did feel fresh afterwards, not too dry and also not oily which is a plus.

Hope you all enjoyed this post

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm

Hey

This post is a follow up to the Revlon lipstick review as I bought two products because there was a sale and I hadn't bought anything beauty related in ages and I wanted it (does there need to be any other reason).

Like with the other lipstick I swatched about every colour there was and in the end I picked 'Shameless'.  I've seen bloggers rave about these products and I wanted to have one of my own.  Everybody lately is embracing the dark purple lip look, which I love but am not brave enough to do but I got this colour as it's purple which I love.

Some people are not a fan of it's scent which is very pepperminty but I love it. Peppermint reminds me of candy canes which reminds me of Christmas.  It's very easy to apply,  the crayon like tip makes it easier for me to apply accurately and not look like a complete mess.  For me it does not last very long with it wearing off particularly in the inner part of my bottom lip so I do need to reapply. It also helps to have your lips moisturised so it's easier to apply.

Hope you all enjoyed this post

My Favourite Things #2

Hey

Yay its Friday! As you are reading this I will be on a emotional roller-coaster ride as I have a essay due tomorrow; the emotions range from stress to being hopeful its good all the way to just giving up because I've had enough. It happens every time. Oh well, these favourite things make me happy and help distract me.

Walking in Trees
While walking through Albert Park my friend and I saw this steel stair contraption that is built around one of the trees. We immediately walked along it and while it was a bit scary especially since at times it didn't feel stable it was amazing to see the park from above and I kind of felt like a child again,  having a obsession with climbing trees.

Nails
As I've said in a previous post I love the colour pink, and at the moment I'm painting my nails in Strawberry Margarita by O.P.I. (The nails shown are the only ones I've done so far, I'm still working on it).

Song - Problem, Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea
This song hasn't been out for that long and as soon as I heard it I loved it and it's been stuck in my head all day.  It's catchy, it makes you want to dance and I love the contrast of Ariana and Iggy's voices.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and have a great weekend :D
