iHerb #001

Hello again

This was the last online purchase I made for myself last year (I think), it was so long ago I can't remember.  I heard a lot about iHerb, mostly on the Makeup Obsessives Facebook page so I wanted to join in and bought a couple of things.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush: iHerb has Real Techniques really cheap so it would be stupid of me to not get a couple of things.  I've heard people rave about this brush for putting on foundation, I've tried it once and it didn't go so well. I need more practice with it so hopefully I'll start to love it as much as everyone else.

Real Techniques Sponge: I've always wanted to try out a Beauty Blender so I went for next cheaper option. Like with the Buffing Brush I wasn't really sure how to use it, I need more practice.

Elf Undereye Setting Powder: I've watched Shaaanxo use and rave about it in many of her video's so of course I had to get some too.

Hurraw! Vanilla Bean Lipbalm: Once again this is a Shaaanxo inspired purchase. I got two, one for me and the other for my Dad as one of his Christmas gift's as he's always taking mine.

Real Techniques Your Eyes/Enhanced Starter Set: I went back and fourth deciding whether or not to get this. To save myself from buyer regret I got it and now I'm all set to navigate my way through putting on eye shadow.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! xx

OOTD: 24/01/15

Hey

I've never done OOTD posts before and I'm a bit nervous about it but I thought it will be a nice addition to the blog.  We'll see how long it lasts.

Top - Mirrou / Whistle Skirt - Farmers / Daisy Ring - Pandora

I didn't do anything special on Saturday, just stayed at home, I just really liked my outfit that day.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know if I should keep doing them xx

My Favourite Things #31

Liner Note Kids Shirt
This T-Shirt brand is designed by NZ YouTuber Charli Marie who is now living in London.  I loved the designs so much I bought one before the cut off date.  As you can see I got 'High-Def Hopes and Dreams'. I just love the typography and the design of it, I know I'll be wearing it a lot.

Phone Case
On Boxing Day I checked out Ebay and found some cheap phones cases and bought one which turned up this week. Of course it's pink, it's a hard case so hopefully it will protect it but I very rarely drop my phone (hope I don't jinx it).

Disney Vlogs
Lately I've been watching a lot of YouTube mostly vlogs by Pixels and Pixie Dust which are two sisters from Auckland who are obsessed with Disney.  One of the sisters, Megan, is currently dong the Disney International College Program which is something I really want to do and have applied for (eek!) So I've been enjoying learning what it will be like.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and have an amazing weekend!

Wanderlust Tag

Hey

I've seen a couple of NZ bloggers do this tag which was created by Genie from Bunny Eats Design so I thought I would do it as I do have a serious case of Wanderlust.  Travelling is something I really want to do, to visit and experience different places around the world.

Where was your first plane to?
My first was to Wellington when I was in Year 9 so I might of been 14.  It was around the time when they were going to stop the Overlander Train between Auckland and Wellington.  My parents wanted to ride it, I think I wanted to as well, so we flew to Wellington had a couple of days there and rode the train back home.

Where have you travelled to that you would love to visit again?
I haven't been to a lot of places in NZ and no where overseas yet.  Wellington is definitely somewhere I would love to got to again, something different from Auckland. I've only been twice but I loved it.

Rotorua is pretty much my favourite place. My family and I have small holidays there almost every year and I just enjoy them so much whether we're visiting the attractions; Rainbow Springs or if we're just walking around the city.

You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no object, where are you going?
Without hesitation Europe, mostly France and Italy but I love to explore the whole continent.  I'm just really fascinated with it's long history, the architecture and of course the art. Museums and art galleries are the places I'll most likely head to first especially in Italy. The Italian Renaissance was my favourite period of art and am thinking of studying it further, I also studied ancient Rome a lot and would love to visit the ancient sites.

Florence - One of my dream destinations. Photo from Pinterest

Preferred method of travel; planes, trains or car?
Hmm probably trains first; you can just sit and relax and see parts of the country which you would have otherwise not encountered.  Next plane, it's the fastest mode of transport and then car which can be a bit tiresome.

Favourite travel website?
Hmm I don't know, maybe Grabaseat just to see all the deals and dream.

Where would you travel to just eat the food?
Italy, that is all.

And suddenly I'm hungry - Photo's from Pinterest

Is there a place you would never go again?
I can't think of anywhere, I haven't been to many places.

Can you recite your passport number from memory if asked?
I've never had a passport but will get one soon.

Do you prefer the Window, Aisle, or Middle seat?
Hmm it will have to be between the window and aisle seat, definitely not the middle but would be bearable if I was between people I knew.  Maybe window for short haul flights and aisle for long haul, I hate having to move past people and what are you suppose to do if they're asleep?!

How do you pass the time on the air plane?

Music for sure and podcasts as well. I would also bring a book and if it was available watch a movie.

That's the tag. Even though I've never been anywhere really I always imagine all the places I would love to visit.

If you want to do the tag feel free to! Here are the questions:

Velvetine Dash

Hey

Last year I made a couple of purchases which I didn't manage to blog about so here they are.  This post was suppose to go up yesterday but I was distracted by the Golden Globes, I just love award season.

At the end of the year news broke that Lime Crime soon won't be available anywhere in NZ but the website.  Shipping from the website is $10 which is way too much for me.  I have a couple (four) Lime Crime lipsticks but I don't have any of the Velventines so I quickly jumped onto Makeup.co.nz and got myself one as well as a Tangle Teezer.

I've always wanted a Tangle Teezer just as an alternative and would be easier to take around with me rather than a bulky hairbrush. Of course I got a pink and purple one because I like everything to be aesthetically pleasing.

I had a difficult time deciding on what Velvetine shade to get but I eventually decided on Red Velvet because I'm a sucker for a red lipstick.

The colour is amazing! Sooo pretty. It goes on nicely, dries quickly, and of course it stays on for hours so I don't have to paranoid all day whether or not I look weird with worn off lipstick.

Hope you all enjoyed this post!

My Favourite Things #30

My Favourite Things is back for 2015!

Finding a new blog design
For a while now I've been wanting to give the blog a makeover.  I've been searching for designs, mostly on Esty, and there is so many to choose from! I know I want it to be simple and classic and not be too confusing.  Looking at the designs makes me more excited about blogging which is good.  I'm also thinking of changing the blog's name, I'm not sure yet.

Just a little inspiration from Pinterest

New Twitter follower
So yesterday Shaaanxo  asked her followers to tweet her their favourite video of hers (does that sound right?) So I did and then I checked Twitter and I was like OMG! SHE FOLLOWED ME!!! I was seriously freaking out but only internally, I was on the couch with my sister and Mum and they would have thought I was weird. So yeah, that was the highlight of day/week.

Buddy got a haircut
Our dog got a haircut today. I posted a photo on Facebook but I'll put it on here too as his cuteness just needs to be shared.  He's also very soft and looks 10 years younger.

Hope enjoyed this post and have an amazing weekend. My sister has a rugby tournament at the Mount tomorrow so I might go to that as I have nothing else to do.

Christmas Gifts 2014

Hey

I'd thought I would share what I got for Christmas as I'm always interested in what other people got for some reason.

Pretty most of what I got were chocolate/lollies and they're pretty much all gone now... I'll just mention the interesting stuff.

From the Parents..

Alarm Clock: I think my parents are trying to hint at something... Seriously though I do actually need this. During the holidays my sleeping cycle is just messed up, don't even want to say what time I woke up today.

Ring: This is one my favourite gifts. I just love bows and in the middle is a tiny diamond which my Mum had to mention as I never noticed it. It's just soooooo pretty.

Phone: This was my 'big/main' present. I put it on my list but I never thought I would get it so I was surprised.  My old phone was just annoying, it was old so it couldn't get any new updates and it was also pretty bulky and my thumbs were too big for the screen.

The award for the present I wasn't expecting but love the most is this, a new desk chair.  The photo is bad, it's more of a darker purple, but it's a purple chair! How cool.  Anyway for sure this is the present I will use the most, I'm even using it right now.

I also got some new pyjamas, earphones which I really needed as my others stopped working and my siblings and I got some Australian spending money for our trip which I am really excited about.

From the siblings..
My brother got me a ITunes voucher which was much needed. I wiped clean my IPod and put all my music back on. I've been meaning to do it for ages, feels good.

My sister's gift was really surprising but awesome.

How did she know!!! Seriously though how did she.  She's not really that interested in makeup, my Mum might have possibly told her but oh well it's awesome.

One's a matte and other is more glossy.

The one on the right, the matte, is Showy Flamboyante and is a pretty pink shade and is perfect for summer days.

On the right is Vivacious Exuberante, a glossy pink red, a colour perfect for Christmas. I wore this on Christmas day and is what I'm wearing in my profile picture.

Hope you all enjoyed this post!

Smashbox Christmas Win

Hey

Welcome back everybody! Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years and are ready for what 2015 brings. This is the first post of 2015!

During the lead up to Christmas Smashbox, on their Facebook page, had a little 12 days of Giveaways in which everyday you enter and there are 12 winners. I of course entered everyday and I won something! It was very exciting.

For that day you had to comment which shade of their new Be Legendary Lip Lacquer you would like to win. I chose the shade Currant and it's gorgeous.

The applicator is thinner in the middle and is very soft and flexible.  I personally like it, it's more malleable so you can get a more precise application of the product.

In the tube the colour looks like a dark purple but on the lips it's more of a berry purple. It goes on very easily, the colour is very pigmented and glossy.  The formula isn't thick and at first it's a bit more of a regular gloss but you can easily build up the colour.

This is one swipe of the colour

Overall it's very moisturising, doesn't dry out at all and the colour gradually wears off so your lips are still tinted which is great.

There is a range of shades which all look gorgeous as well.

Hope you all enjoyed this post!
