Introducing...

I can't believe I finally did it. I've been thinking and planning re branding the blog for the longest time and I still cannot quite believe I manged to do it. I even went and got its own domain which is scary/exciting and I once again can't believe I manged to switch it over without too many breakdowns. The blog also turns 3 today, happy birthday blog!

I started and came up with the name arte della moda somewhat spontaneously. Coming up with names and titles doesn't come naturally to me so I ended up turning to google translator cause words just sound better in another language. Art and Fashion were some of the main topics I wanted to write about so I translated it into Italian and that was it. The name hasn't really fitted and it wasn't till this year when I looked at the blog as a whole and saw the name didn't correlate to what I was creating.

Like the first time I did it coming up with a new name that fitted the blog was challenging. I wanted something simple yet cool and memorable. One idea was using my name and overtime it stuck as none of the other ideas I had were any good.

Using my name isn't really new or unique but it allows me the freedom to write about what I want without feeling like it doesn't fit.

So yeah. I'm really happy with the new design as well, it took me a while to find one which I was totally happy with and it was on sale! It was meant to be.

Thanks for sticking around. I'd love to know what you think of the new blog.

This is the last post for arte della moda so I thought it would nice to end on something pretty.  I haven't painted my nails in a long while so to make up for it I went all out.

Maybelline Only Everyday Makeup

Thought it would be nice to do a video that wasn't book related. What is this! Tried to make it more interesting by only using Maybelline products, only because it's the most products I have from one brand. Enjoy!

Thoughts on Friendship

So last week I posted my review of Ctrl, Alt; Delete and I mentioned how while reading I was compelled to note down some of my thoughts and feelings thanks to the chapter on friendship. It was a feeling I hadn't really experienced before, an overwhelming desire to write something down. I thought I should do something with it so here it is.

Review | Ctrl, Alt; Delete - Emma Gannon

Ctrl, Alt; Delete was the second book for Sophie's Book Club but regardless I knew I wanted to read this book. I absolutely love Emma's podcast Ctrl, Alt; Delete and her book is no different.

Books to Read in September | Ashley Ruth

New month means a new list of books to read. I mention quite a lot of books since I got a few new ones.*

*Will not endeavour to read them all this month.

August Review

Hello September! Ever since I was a kid I've loved September. It's the start of Spring and also because it's the month which Calf Club day occurs which was my fav. In the days leading up to it we did art a lot which I loved. Here's what was blogged in August.

Coming Soon...

For a while now the blog hasn't really felt right to me. I started arte della moda almost three years ago to write mostly about the art I studied at uni. Since finishing uni I no longer have any new insights into art and I've moved that topic into its own blog: Alternative Spaces.

Change is interesting, in some aspects I feel like I haven't changed at all but in the case of my blog I have. Books wasn't really a topic I initially thought of when my blog started but now it's an important one which I enjoy writing and also talking about immensely. YouTube is also something which I have started doing. Not so long ago the thought of going on camera and talking terrified me but somewhere along the line the anxiety driven fear sort of disappeared. When I start to think about it aspects of my personality have slowly changed, some for the better and I can only hope that they continue to change. However I am still an socially awkward mess, here's hoping there's some movement there.

Coming up with a new name is very stressful especially since I've never been any good a it. How can you summarise something in a few words. I eventually came up with something and so far it's stuck. A new design is also on the cards, I've found one I like but I'm still looking. I'm planning on relaunching on the blog's third birthday, September 30, so I've got a month to shop around.

I created an event on my Facebook page, I'm not entirely sure about it but whatever. I'm excited for the change, the thought of it sounds refreshing and gives me the sense of freedom.

Until then.
