Bloodlines - The Ruby Circle

If you've been reading the blog for a while you'll know how much I love the Bloodline series as well as its predecessor Vampire Academy.  This is the last book of the series which I'm sad about but it had to end sometime.

I did a review of the previous book, Silver Shadows here. Like with that review if you haven't read the previous books be prepared to see some spoiler alerts, you've been warned.

This book again swaps between Adrian and Sydney's perspectives as they deal with the aftermath of them getting married and Jill being kidnapped.  The book is basically a journey of them finding her, Sydney coming up against an old enemy, as well as some other stuff which I'll won't mention.  There were a couple of omg moments which is great as they make the story more exciting and just makes me want to read the whole thing in one go.

Overall the book was great and the ending was good and nicely finished off the series with the characters getting their own happy endings.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! xx

Bloodlines - Silver Shadows

Hey

Sorry there was no post yesterday, had my first exam and was kinda freaking out about it. The lecturers gave us no hints at all so I tried to study the entire coursework :/ Thankfully there were questions that I could answer and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I always have this fear of going in and completely forgetting everything.

As I mentioned in Friday's post I went to Lorde on Saturday. She was amazing of course! She sounded great and the lighting was amazing even though they made my eyes hurt a bit.  There was even frozen yogurt which I could not resist in getting.  I ended up rocking the purple lip, I wore the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Shameless which I did a post on here.

With that all out of the way the focus of this post is about a book. It's been a while since I've posted about books and I've been meaning to do a little review of this book which I have had for a couple of months.

Silver Shadows is the fifth book in the Bloodlines series which means there's only one to go then the series is done. :( I did a post on the series which you can read here.  If you haven't read the previous books there are spoiler alerts so with that warning read on if you please.

Like with the Fiery Heart the chapters swap between the perspectives of Sydney and Adrian which is nice as it gives two views of the series situation the characters are in.  Sydney was captured at the end of the Fiery Heart and is now being held in the Alchemists Re-education Centre being more or less tortured and brainwashed.  While there she tries to keep her head as well as to try and escape the centre with the help of her magic. We see her experience on the inside as well as Adrian's on the outside who tries to find her and kind of goes a bit unstable and has to get the help of Marcus who he is not a fan of.

I don't want to spoil the plot so I might leave it there. Some big things happen that were for me exciting and I can't wait to see how it all ends in the final book.

Hope you all enjoyed this post!

My Favorite Things #16

Nivea Vitamin Shake Cranberry and Raspberry Lip Balm
I got this while at Rotorua, it was $2 at the Warehouse and was too good to pass up.  I mentioned in Monday's post how chapped my lips were so I really needed to get a good lip balm.  I really like it, I put some on whenever I feel my lips are too dry and I have noticed a bit of an improvement of the state of my lips, they're no longer disgusting especially in the morning.  It does smell fruity but not as good as the Strawberry one and the balm itself is pink with fused hints of white which I love, it's just pretty to look at.

Essie Button's Nordic Vlogs
Essie and her boyfriend Aslan recently went on a trip to Denmark and Norway and vlogged their trip.  I've been obsessed with these videos, I find it fascinating seeing and learning about different countries and what cool stuff there is to do.  Watching these definitely makes me want to go to Europe and just travel around. It would be cool/freaky to just drive to another country.  You can watch her amazing vlogs here, here as well as right here.

Bloodlines - Silver Shadows
I've mention how much I love the Bloodlines series before, you can see a brief summary of it here.  The latest book, Silver Shadows has recently come out and I got it as soon as I could.  I'm trying to take it slow and not read it all at once but I'm kind of failing, oh well.  The previous book didn't end so well for the characters so hopefully things get better for them, i.e Sydney and Adrian find each other and have a sort of happy ending. I might of read the last page of the book... I tend to do that a lot, I'm not patient in finding out how it all ends *sigh*.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and have a great weekend!

Favourite Book Series - Bloodlines

Hey

This post is a follow up to my favourite book series (Vampire Academy) and I have to say that this books series might just be better than Vampire Academy; but then again it's might be (yes it is) because a certain character is more central in this series. But more to that later ;)

The series is a spin off and kind of sequel to Vampire Academy (see my post on this series here) and is quite hard to explain without giving too much away of what happens at the end of the first series, but I'll try my best.

This series follows Sydney, who you would have met before, and her complicated life being and Alchemist.  She and along with a couple of other characters readers have already met are in Palm Springs to protect and hide Jill for a reason you'd know if you have read the last VA book (see how hard it is!)  Throughout the series we see Sydney lax in her prejudice against vampires (and discover a new skill) which leads her to fall in love with (my favourite character) Adrian.  I don't know why I love Adrian, I just do, he has great one-liners, a snarky attitude but at the same time is sweet; you just can't help loving him.  He is 'one' of the reasons why I love this series more as he *spoiler* gets the girl and there's just more of him.

Along with the whole vampire element it also is just kind of like a teen drama with each character having their own problems with relationships, high school etc.

So far there is only four books published and the next one Silver Shadows comes out soon.  The author posted the first chapter online and it was AMAZING can't wait for it :D

Hope you all enjoyed this post. I've pretty much read every book I have and need something new to read so I would love to hear any recommendations of any series I can get obsessed about.
