Korean skincare is something I've always wanted to try out. I've heard amazing things about how well they work as well as the fact they're more often cheaper than the skincare you find here. There's a lot of variety which for me made it difficult to choose what to try out. I decided to bite the bullet and picked up a couple of things from Korean Kiwi Beauty which I discovered on Instagram. They do free shipping in NZ which is always such a deciding factor for me as well as each order including a healthy amount of samples.
An exfoliating product was one of the things I wanted to get and I ended up picking up a Holika Holika Smoothie Yellow Kiwi Peeling Jam. It's based on ripe kiwifruit pulp and is rich in proteins & enzymes. The scrub particles are crushed kiwifruit and apricot seeds which I thought was cool. The consistency of it is really like a jam/jelly which is something I've never experience before. You don't need much for your face which is good. You apply, leave for 5-10 minutes and then wash off. I apply it when my face is feeling especially oily/grimy and after using it my face does feel more clean and smooth.
I really wanted to try out a face mask so I searched for a mud mask as well as one of those bubble masks I've heard a bit about. I found a couple but unfortunately they weren't in stock. I ended up getting a Missha Natural Color Clay Mask and got the Green (Pore care) one as it said it was great for acne and reduces extra skin oil.
The consistency is really thin and watery, you only need to apply a thin layer to your face and leave on for 15-20 minutes before washing off. Unlike with the Skinfood mud masque which is what I've used before, you don't see any visual signs that it's pulling stuff from your skin.
I'm not entirely sure whether or not it's actually helping my skin. It will start to look better but then just break out and look horrible. I think I'll have to try some other products and see if they will work better. I'm still wanting to try out the mud & bubble masks as well as some makeup which the website also sells.
Have you tried any Korean Skincare before? What products do you recommend?
