NOTD 10/03/16

It's been a long while since I've done a NOTD post. These nails managed to last the entire week without much chipping which I was stoked about.

NOTD 25/08/15

It's been a while since I've done one of these mostly because I've been too lazy to paint my nails.  I was however motivated this weekend and added some colour to the end of my fingers.

I was in the mood for something neutral and grey paired with pink is one of my favourite colour combinations.

I'm happy with them but I also feel like something is missing, like glitter. I dunno what do you think? The only glitters I have is blue and red which I don't think will go *sigh*

Hope you all enjoyed this post xxx

NOTD Essie Bobbing for Baubles

I got this colour a couple of months ago which you can read about here.

I've never had a colour like this and it's not usually one I'd go for but I was feeling adventurous and got it.

In the bottle it looks like a dark navy blue and to me it looks even darker/borderline black on my nails.  It's kind of like a bluey black rather than a navy.  I'm not entirely sure about the colour yet, maybe I just need to get use to it.  I think the name is cute though.

The formula is runny so make sure you don't' have a lot on the brush, a little goes a long way.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! xxx

NOTD Essie Blanc + Stroke of Brilliance + Toggle to the Top

As soon as I got the Essie nail polishes from Wednesday's post I immediately had to put them on my nails.

I hadn't yet tried Blanc and thought it would look great with the glitter.

Essie Blanc + Toggle to the Top

I think Blanc and Stroke of Brilliance look great together but I'm sure about the other pairing. I think Toggle to the Top would look amazing with a red.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and have a great long weekend! xoxo

Matching Nails and Lips

Hey

It's been a while since I've posted and it feels kinda strange... I've taken a well needed hiatus from blogging to try and concentrate more on what felt like never ending assignments that were due one after the other.  Anyway, I'm back! I've only got a test on Thursday then I'm done till exams kick in.

I know I'm getting less stressed when I decide to paint my nails. Over the last couple of weeks the thought of doing them felt like a chore and the idea just repulsed me.  Yesterday I felt my nails were bare and boring and felt like doing them.

As usual when I go to pick a colour I think that I really need to get more colours and also that I have a number of reds.  As you can see I went for a red but is more of a orange-y red. It's from Collection Cosmetics and is 'Lady in Red'.  The colour is nice, it's pigmented so you cold get away with one coat but I usually go for two.  It doesn't have great lasting power, it's already started to chip on my left hand but what can you do.

While I was painting them I thought that the colour was a almost perfect match to one of my lipsticks.

This is a Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Love that Pink which is more a red pink than an actual pink.  I wore it all day on Saturday, unlike the nail polish it has great lasting power which had a little help from Lily Pebbles and her tips on How to make Lipstick Last. So yeah, it pretty much lasted the whole day with a few touch ups which I did out of boredom.

Yesterday my fam and I went for a little trip in Pukekohe and of course I had to have a look in Farmers.  I only came away with a plain, black short sleeved shirt but was something I really needed as I have none and really goes well with some skirts I have.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Hopefully the blogging will be more regular from now on but was nice to have a little break.

Nails of the Day

Hey

So yesterday while I was trying to work on my essay, I noticed my nails were a bit bare and dull so I decided it was a good time as any to paint them.  I wanted to do something I haven't done before colour combination wise which led me to what my nails look like now.

The purple is called Grape Times and is a 'Express Finish' by Maybelline New York.  I've had this colour for quite a while and I love the rich deep colour.  Like the title says it does dry quite fast and it pays to do a couple of coats to achieve the deep colour.  However it does chip easily after a couple of days so it pays to have a base and top coat on.

The shimmery metallic blue is a Turquoise Shatter polish by O.P.I.  I love the colour, this is the first time I've used it and wanted to see if it went well with the purple.  I think it looks amazing on the nails I got right.  Pays to do only one coat so it shatters while it dries, if you do more than one it's will just look like a thin messy cover over the base colour.

Hope you all enjoyed this post
