Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas

Twas the day before Christmas and all around shopping malls are packed with people scrambling to acquire gifts. This pretty much happens every year so I made sure I did all my shopping 1. before it got crazy & 2. in the morning, on a weekday.

For today's post I'd thought I do a little gift guide for those of you doing some last minute shopping and/or for the people who are just too difficult to buy for.

Chocolate
Easy, everyone loves chocolate. Favourites and Roses are easy to give, there's a variety so there should be one flavour that someone likes. And of course there's just blocks of chocolate, just pick your giftee's favourite and you're good.

Books
Like chocolate you can never go wrong. There are so many genres and topics to choose from so hopefully you can find something the person your buying for likes. I chose to include an adult colouring book for an example. I love Joanna Basford's illustrations, I already have Secret Garden and I would love the other two.

Beauty Gift Sets
Gift sets are great, you get a variety of items all bundled up in some beautiful (sometimes Christmassy) packaging. Last year my sister got me Revlon gift set with two Colourburst Lip Crayons which I loved. It was great.

Magazines
Also like with books magazines covers a wide rang of interests. This is the road I took with my brother who is extremely difficult to buy for. Magazine and chocolate and he's all set.

Gift Cards
And if all else fails you can always resort to the good old gift cards. They're easy and it means the person you're buying for actually gets something that they like.

I hope this was helpful in anyway. Merry Christmas everyone! Can't believe it's only a couple of days away, hasn't set in for me yet but I'm excited. I got an early Christmas present yesterday in finding out I passed all my courses and I now have my Honours degree! Thank god. Hope you all have an amazing Christmas.

Mirrou Spree

Hey

How's it going? How was your weekend? My weekend was nice, had a lazy Saturday and on Sunday I went to my first ever bloggers brunch. I was super nervous but everyone was lovely (I still kept quite though, takes a while for me to come out of my shell when meeting new people) and the food was yum.

Today's post is a clothing haul which I don't think I've done in a while. A couple of weeks ago my family and I (minus my brother) went to Sylvia Park for some reason. I can't really remember which is the norm for me lately, my memory is starting to fail me.  Anyway I discovered Mirrou which I didn't know was at Sylvia so I had to go in and found some great pieces.

Left: Just a nice white singlet which I can just wear with anything.

Right: I saw a girl wearing this shirt earlier in the day and I really liked it but had no idea where it was from. When I saw it in Mirrou I knew it was mine.  The sleeves and around the collar in the front are mesh which makes it more interesting than a plain black shirt.  My sister actually got the same shirt which was surprising as we don't usually have the same taste in clothes.

Left: This shirt was right beside the black one above and I loved it as well. Just a classic black and white shirt but what sealed it for me was the typography.  Whenever I see something in French or just the word Paris I have to have it.

Right: This was the first thing I spotted in the store. It's a nice cardigan thing which I can just throw on when it's a bit chilly. It's long, flowy and is also very soft which is a must. It came in black as well but went for this one as I'm trying to avoid the safety net that is black.

My Mum actually pointed this out to me and when I saw it I knew I wanted it. I think it's pretty obvious why, it's gorgeous and is another addition to my key ring.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! From now on I might only post twice a week leading up to Christmas, maybe, we'll see how it goes :p

Farmers Haul

Hey

It's the start of another week and once again I am still studying, it's like a never ending cycle. But fortunately my last exam, hopefully forever, is on Thursday so I'll be free! That basically means I'll be trying to find a job and other things to occupy my time.

A couple of weeks ago Farmers were having their sales which they have every Thursday and of course I couldn't resist.  What really drew me in was the 25% off Revlon Foundation as mine was running low and needed more. I of course got a few more things so it wouldn't feel lonely.

No Issue Jumper & Whistle Skirt

When I saw these particularly, the jumper I knew they had to be mine. The jumper isn't something I would usually go for but I couldn't resist the pink even if it is neon. It's nice and lightweight, the sleeves are in a knitted style so will be nice to wear on a cool night.  The skirt is a nice black skater style business type skirt if that's how you want to describe it and is very versatile.

Maybelline Colour Sensational, 625 Are You Red-dy
You guys know that I have a problem when it comes to red lipsticks, I literally want all the shades there are. I probably shouldn't have bought this but oh well it's mine now.  This one is more of an actual red, not orangey or pinky, just a classic red. I justify the purchase as I don't have one of those, I'm obsessed with the whole pin-up look and this would be the perfect red for it.

Chi Chi Lip Liner in Fly Girl
I've always wanted a Chi Chi lip liner after watching Shaaanxo rave about them constantly.  I couldn't decide between nude or red so I went in between with a fleshy pink.  It really does go on smoothly and keeps my lipstick in place. I definitely need to get more.

Sunglasses
While we were there my Mum wanted to have a look at the sunglasses, the rest of my family got some new pairs so I wanted to get some myself.  I ended up getting two pairs as I just couldn't choose.  They both have a similar cat-eye shape, one is black and the other has a tortoise shell design.  To me the black looks more glamorous and the other more casual but I'll just wear them around anywhere.

Hope you all enjoyed this post! I got some other things from this shopping trip, they were repurchases and there will be a post on them on Wednesday.

First Lush Haul

Hey

Yesterday I ventured into the city with the goal to get some more resources for my essays which I am forcing myself to do these holidays, it's not easy.  I did accomplished half of what I set out to do and the rest of the day I just wandered around Queen Street and went into shops with the urge to buy.  I was so tempted to buy some stuff in Glassons, I especially loved this one dress but it was $50 and I was like no :(  I did however get some stuff from Lush which I have wanted for a while.

After being in the shop for a while and smelling everything I finally decided on a lip scrub and a face mask.

Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I mentioned before how disgusting my lips have been during winter and I have wanted to get a lip scrub.  In the store I was standing there for a good while tossing up between getting Bubblegum or Popcorn.  I eventually went for Bubblegum as it's so sweet and of course it's pink (I just couldn't resist) I love it so far, I only need a tiny bit on my little finger and I just rub it all over my lips.  Did I mention it also tastes amazing too ;p

Cupcake Fresh Face Mask
I've really wanted to get a face mask for a while and I particularly wanted one that helped with oily skin as I am a sufferer.  Cupcake is suppose to absorb excess oil and calm breakouts which is exactly what I need.  As you can see it's very gooey and smells like peppermint chocolate! Seriously it does and I get to put it on my face ;p

Hope you all enjoyed this post!

Clothes, Clothes and Clothes

Hey

As mentioned last week I went to Farmers and they were having a sale and there were quite a number of clothes on the sale rack.  I managed to find some gems as well as some other pieces that were still on sale but not to the extent as the others.

These are the little gems I found on the sales rack.  The pink sweater at the top was $10 and what drew me to it was for sure was the detail on the shoulders, I do love a bit of sparkle and pink.  The denim jacket and the peach/coral blazer were $20 and when I saw them I knew I had to have them, everyone needs to have a denim jacket right?  The picture on the left is the actual colour of the blazer, it's nicely fitted and I love how bright and summery the colour is.

These two weren't on the sale rack but I really really liked them.  The top is just a nice summery shirt that I can just throw on and it goes nicely with the blazer.  The skirt is a 'denim' skater style but is not really denim, just looks like it.  I've been having a thing for skater style skirts for a while now, I just want one is every colour/pattern.

Hope you all enjoyed this post!

Shopping Trip Pt. 2

Hey

This post is a continuation of the one on Monday where I'm showing off all the clothes I got which I am now obsessed with and can't live without.

Once'it posted this last week and I believe it correctly describes how I am feeling about my new purchases.

Like I said on Monday's post I love the whole skirt over tights look and have been in dire need of some skirts.

These two are both from Valley Girl and they are now my favourite pieces of clothing.  I especially love the tartan one so much you won't believe, I really want a tartan dress now!  There weren't much sizes left of the top skirt and the biggest they had was a 12, but thankfully it fitted me because I love it, it's black and white and you could dress it up or keep it casual.

I've wanted some black boots for quite some time now, I have a tan pair which I love but black goes with everything.  These are from Number One Shoes and there're not too high and uncomfortable and I love the buckle detail.  I could wear these with both skirts and jeans so it's good to know I can get some good use out of them unlike some of my other shoes...

Hope you all enjoyed this post! :D

Shopping Trip Pt 1

Hey

I mentioned in Friday's post that I went for a shopping trip with my Mum on Thursday.  I got some pieces that I've really wanted for some time which is great, I'll show some of it in this post and the other pieces later on.

Pretty much the first stop we made was to Mirrou which was right by the entrance to the mall. I love Mirrou in that they have some really great pieces that don't cost a lot so I always love going in and seeing what they have.  I found some pieces I really liked and left the store with two shirts.

As you can see the first is just a nice fitted grey shirt which I can just wear with anything. It flares out at the bottom which is great for me as it doesn't draw attention to my stomach.

The second top is something I saw when I went to Mirrou before and I really liked it so this time around when I saw it again I got it.  I just love how simple it is; black and white with the hearts. It's quite long, it could possibly be a short-ish dress, and the material is very soft which is a plus.

I've always loved the skirt over tights look but I don't really have much of the way of skirts which I could do that with so I've been wanting to get some skirts for some time.

This is one of the three skirts I picked up and is from Temt and was on sale for $8!! As you can see it's black and white and has a floral design on it and has a stretchy waist. I love it and since I got it I've been wearing it around a lot.

Like I said I got some other pieces mostly skirts and some boots which I will do a post for later this week.

Hope you all enjoyed this post :p
